PURPOSE:To make a lightning insulator manufacturable easily as well as to aim at simplification in its structure by setting the number of lightning insulators at the support arm side, namely, the base end side down to a parallel multiple range much more than of the lightning insulator to be situated at the tip side. CONSTITUTION:The number of first to third lightning insulators 9A-9C is made so plenty as much as the side of a support arm 2. With this formation, tensile load due to dead load of second and third lightning insulators 9B and 9C acting on the first lightning insulator 9A and bending load to be produced by inertial force of each unit due to steel tower vibration both become smaller, and load acting on the second lightning insulator 9B also become smaller. In consequence, load acting on the first and second lightning insulators 0A and 9B is made into the irreducible minimum of necessity, dispensing with an excessive design, and structual simplification is realized from the aspect of relaxation of strength design conditions by the fact that a resonance phenomenon with steel tower vibration at time of an earthquake with the rise of characteristic frequency due to improvement in flexural rigidity is made avoidable so easily so that manufacturing cost is reducible. And, weight of the whole lightning insulator set is reduced, thus it becomes so advantageous from the standpoint of steel tower installation.
