PURPOSE:To improve an organic dye film in stability to heat and light, long- term shelf stability, and repeated regeneration characteristics, by a method wherein a recording layer contains one or more diazulenium salt compounds and one or ore animium salt compound or diimonium salt compounds, each of which is shown by a specific formula. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium can be formed by providing a recording layer 2, which is an organic film prepared by incorporating at least a diazulenium salt compound with an animium salt compound or a diimonium salt compound, on a substrate 1. The recording layer 2 can be formed by the application of a coating liquid prepared by dissolution-mixing or dispersion- mixing compounds shown by formulas I, II, III in an organic solvent. In the forming of the recording layer 2, two or more sorts of the compounds shown by the formulas I, II, III can be used in combination. Furthermore, the compounds may be dispersion-mixed or laminated with a dye, such as a polymethylene or azulene dye other than the compounds shown by the formulas I, II, III, or a metal or metallic compound, such as Al and Te. |
