PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, containing a specific compound derived from a specific polycarboxylic acid or an acid anhydride thereof, capable of improving adhesive strength and heat resistance without impairing other physical properties and useful as anaerobic adhesives, etc. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition containing a polyester (meth)acrylate compound having at least one carboxyl group which is a reaction product of (A) one or more selected from the group consisting of polycarboxylic acid anhydrides or hydrous substances thereof expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H or 1-8C alkyl) or formula II with (B) an acrylate or methacrylate compound [e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate] having hydroxyl group. Furthermore, the above-mentioned compound is preferably obtained by reacting, e.g. 3,4- dicarboxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthalenesuccinic acid, etc., or an acid anhydride thereof with the component (B) in the presence of an esterification catalyst and polymerization inhibitor at 50-150 deg.C for several hr.
