PURPOSE:To effectively keep the airtightness, to lengthen the life, and to stabilize the capacity of a sealed lead-acid battery by installing an oil reserving groove in the peripheral upper surface of a vent, and constantly supplying oil to a rubber plate arranged so as to cover the vent. CONSTITUTION:An oil reserving groove 2 is installed concentrically with a vent 1 in its peripheral upper surface 1a. A rubber plate 3 is arranged so as to cover the upper surface 1a of the vent 1 and the groove 2, and silicone oil is filled between the rubber plate 3 and the upper surface 1a and in the groove 2 to form a safety vent. The rubber plate 3 is pressed down with a container cover 6 through a cushion 5. By constantly supplying oil to the rubber plate 3 from the oil reserving groove 2, the airtightness of the safety valve is effectively kept, and the life of a sealed lead-acid battery is lengthened and its capacity is stabilized. |
