PURPOSE:To dry efficiently and evenly combustibles containing moisture therein, to reduce time required for the ignition of the same and to make it possible to treat exhaust gas effectively, by a method wherein a stirrer which is rotated by the exhaust gas in a combustion chamber is provided within said chamber, electromagnetic waves guided into the combustion chamber is scattered by the stirrer and the exhaust gas generated in the combustion chamber is mixed and fed into a secondary combustion device. CONSTITUTION:A stirrer 1 freely rotating under wind pressure is provided on the upper portion of a combustion chamber 5 equipped with an air suction port 2, an exhaust port 3 communicating with a secondary combustion device 6 and, in addition, a waveguide 4 propagating electromagnetic waves. The stirrer 1 is rotated by an air current flowing between the air suction port 2 and the exhaust port 3, and the electromagnetic waves directed through the waveguide 4 into the combustion chamber 5 is scattered, whereby a combustible 7 is subjected evenly to dielectric heating. Combustion gas generated after ignition is mixed with exhaust gas by the rotation of the stirrer 1 and is fed into the secondary combustion device 6 through the exhaust port 3 so that an unburnt component is thus treated. In such a manner that the stirrer 1 is positioned between the air suction port 2 and the exhaust port 3, the stirrer 1 is rotated by the exhaust gas, and the scattering of the electromagnetic waves and the mixture of the gases may be carried out simultaneously.
