PURPOSE:To use a developing sleeve small in diameter, to facilitate the exchange of developer and to improve the carrying force for a new developer by making a line obtained by combining both poles of a fixed magnet which is fixed on a magnetic roll on the opposite side on the circumference of the developing sleeve on a developing abrasion surface orthogonally with a line obtained by combining between the magnet and the center of the roll. CONSTITUTION:The line YY combining both poles N and S of the fixed magnet N2 which is fixed on the magnetic roll 12A on the opposite side on the circumference of the developing sleeve 11 on the developing abrasion surface is made to be nearly orthogonally crossed with the line XX combining between the fixed magnet N2 and the center of the magnetic roll 12A. Thus, the carrying faculty and the exchangeability of the developer are raised in the developing device where the developing sleeve 11 of small diameter is used and the developer in the midst of carried is not scattered. And the latent image of an image carrier is stabilized and even toner image can be obtained.
