PURPOSE:To form a hollow superconductive wire material with a good cooling effect by letting a reducing and inert gas flow to the inside of a copper pipe over whose outer periphery a superconductor material is spread, and after baking, covering the surface of the superconductor material with a good conductive metallic material. CONSTITUTION:On the outer periphery of a small diameter of metallic copper pipe 1, a mixed and kneaded superconductive material 2 such as Y-Ba-Cu-O type is spread with polyethylene glycol the like as a binder. And then, inside the pipe 1, a reducing gas such as hydrogen, an inert gas such as nitrogen gas, or a gas of mixing them is let flow, and the material 2 is baked to make into a superconductive member 3. After that, the member 3 is passed through a copper tub in a molten condition, and a coverage 4 of a good conductive metal is formed over the member 3. In such a way, a hollow superconductive wire material with a good cooling effect can be produced.
