PURPOSE:A substrate consisting of a ceramic material which is hardly reactive with an AB2Cu3 type alloy or an AB2Cu3Oy type oxide, wherein at least the surface of the substrate is formed of an oxide or a compound oxide of a metal having larger energy for forming oxide than Sr or Ba. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with the process of this invention, an oxide of Be or Ca having larger energy for forming oxide than Sr or Ba which has been used as an element having the largest energy for forming oxide in an AB2Cu3Oy system (namely, B), is used for the prepn. of a substrate. Thus, the substrate is prevented from causing reaction with an AB2Cu3 type alloy or AB2Cu3Oy type oxide. Accordingly, a superconducting material consisting of an AB2Cu3Oy type oxide having same critical temp. as a bulk product is obtd. by using said ceramic substrate. Further, if the ceramic substrate of this invention is used for a bulk substrate for the calcination of a ceramic, contamination of the ceramic substrate due to mixing of impurities derived from the substrate is prevented. |
