PURPOSE:To project both ordinary light and pulse light by switching and connecting an ordinary lighting circuit or pulse lighting circuit to plural solid- state light emitting elements. CONSTITUTION:When the ordinary lighting circuit is connected to the solid-state light emitting elements 17 by a switching circuit 43, the respective solid-state light emitting elements 17 lights intermittently to emit ordinary light. When the pulse lighting circuit 42 is connected to the solid-state light emitting elements 17, on the other hand, the solid-state light emitting elements 17 light momentarily to emit pulse light. In this case, brightness control circuits 46 and 48 control the level of a current supplied to the solid-state light emitting elements 17 or the number of solid-state light emitting elements 17 which are driven to adjust the brightness of the projection light. Further, when the projection light is the pulse light, a period control part 50 controls the driving period of the solid-state light emitting element 17. Consequently, the ordinary light and pulse light are adjusted to desired illuminance and projected.
