PURPOSE:To readily and strongly inhibit mutagen activity, by bringing a mutagen into contact with chlorophylls belonging to heterotrophic green algae. CONSTITUTION:A mutagen {example; Trp-p-1(3-amino-1,4-dimethyl-5H-pyrido[4,3- b]indole) or Trp-p-2(3-amino-1-methyl-5H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole} is brought into contact with chlorophylls belonging to heterotrophic green algae, preferably in the absence of liver extract to inhibit activity of the mutagen. The amount of the chlorophylls used on the basis of the mutagen preferably ranges from a quantity equimolar with the mutagen to 2,000mol. |
