<p>This invention relates to a process for preparing dihydroxynaphthalene which comprises hydrolyzing diacyloxynaphthalene in a solvent containing water in the presence of an acid catalyst. Since an acid is used as a catalyst for the hydrolysis, it is possible to prepare dihydroxynaphthalene having a high purity in a high yield.</p> |
