PURPOSE:To detect and visualize any object by detecting reflected laser light and infrared radiant light from the object by an infrared detector at the same time, and separating the both through a filter and measuring them. CONSTITUTION:Laser light 2 emitted by a laser oscillator 1 is intensity- modulated by an acoustooptic modulating element 3 into a sine wave, which is projected on the object 6 through a holed mirror 4 and a two-dimensional scanner 5. Then the reflected laser light 8 from the object 6 is passed through the scanner 5, the mirror 4, and a lens 9 and detected by the infrared detector 10. At this time, the object 6 emits the infrared radiant light 7 determined by the temperature and emissivity of the object 6 and part of the radiant light 7 is also detected by the detector 10. The output of the detector 10 is amplified 11 and the LPF 14 separates the infrared radiant light component to obtain infrared radiation information. Further, the high frequency component which is not separated by the LPF 14 passes through a BPF 15 to select only the component of intensity-modulated laser light 8, thereby obtaining distance information from a phase detector 13 and reflected laser light brightness information from the laser light 8.
