A deflecting device for influencing the flow path of air flowing over the outside of vehicles has, at the rear end region of the vehicle, a flow-deflecting body in the form of a hollow body, the walls of which can be moved relative to one another in such a manner that when the vehicle is not in use the hollow body can be folded together so that the space required by the deflecting device when not in use is extremely small.
