A breathing mask for inhalation devices is universally applicable in that an integrally formed attachment for covering the nose and mouth is thin-walled in the nose-covering region and possesses a deforming element. The deforming element is a hinged U clip which is mounted on the outside of the attachment and engages over the nose-covering region. Depending on the pivoting position of the hinged U clip, the thin-walled covering region is deformed, and this permits adaptation of the breathing mask to the shape of the face of the inhaling individual and/or to the mode of operation, namely warm-air inhalation or aerosol inhalation.
