PURPOSE:To easily measure a specific dielectric constant by indicating at least two points on a received wave profile and calculating the specific dielectric constant of soil and the burying depth of a target on the received wave profile from pieces of information on the time base and a horizontal distance axis. CONSTITUTION:A transmitting and receiving antenna system circuit 12 sends a pulse radio wave into the ground while scanning the ground surface according to sent pulses from a transmitter 13 under the control of a processing means 15. The reflected wave of this pulse radio wave from the target 11 is sent to a means 15 through the circuit 12 and a measuring instrument 14 and displayed on a display device 16 through an interface part 18 as the received profile shown as a reception gain in the two-axial plane of the time base and the horizontal distance axis in the scanning direction of the circuit 12. Then the peak point of a hyperbolic pattern by the target reflected wave of the received wave profile displayed on the display device 16 and another point on the hyperbolic pattern are indicated by operating a mouse 17. Thus, the coordinates of the indicated points P0 and P1 are inputted and the mean specific dielectric constant of the soil where the target 11 is buried and the burying depth of the target 11 are calculated. |
