The sole for a motorcycle boot has an under surface (3), a periphery (7) following the natural anatomical line of the foot, and a peripheral extension (10) for the sole where the sole is liable to increased wear. The peripheral part (10) has an attachment (9) for a wear-patch (13). The blank sole part (1) has a raised rim which slopes upwards from an edge (8) set inwards from the natural sole's peripheral line (7) and which has an attachment (9) on its outside. USE/ADVANTAGE - The sole is especially for motorcycle racing and incorporates a wear patch which can be replaced when it becomes worn through touching the ground.
