Displaceable milling tool for working wood and wood-like materials

The milling tool has tool halves displaceable relative to one another and can be used in particular for working narrow faces. In addition to the tool halves, the milling tool consists of displacement bush, actuator and elements for torque transmission, which at the same time perform the guidance of the tool halves during displacement on the displacement bush. These elements are uniformly distributed about the tool axis in such a way that each element is situated in each case approximately half in the displacement bush and half in the tool half and thus connects these parts. The elements are preferably of cylindrical shape and, with a ratio of diameter to length of at least 1 : 1.5, ensure the necessary low radial play. Owing to the performance of the guidance of the tool halves during displacement, instead of a displacement sleeve which is otherwise customary, the overall height of the tool is considerably reduced. <IMAGE>
