PURPOSE:To reduce a load of the editing functions (correction, deletion, etc.) of a word processor on its user by providing an editing system where a cursor is moved for each KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion. CONSTITUTION:A word processor performs the KANA/KANJI conversion of input characters for each word in an automatic way or with push of a conversion key. Then a cursor is moved for each KANA/KANJI conversion when sentences are edited. Thus the cursor is moved quickly since the cursor moves for each KANA/KANJI conversion in accordance with the key pushing frequency in a cursor shift mode. Thus the editing load is reduced for users and sure working is ensured for the word processor.
