PURPOSE:To obtain the titled light-weight ceramics having excellent heat resistance and electroconductivity without using a ceramic subsidiary material, by distilling one or more kinds of mixed oil selected from petroleum based or coal based lower grade oil in the presence of a metal (compound) and heating and burning distillation residue in order to carbonize the residue. CONSTITUTION:One or more kind of mixed oil selected from lower grade oil of petroleum base such as heavy oil, crude oil or naphtha or coal base such as coal tar are distilled in the presence of a metal such as Zn, Cu, Pb, Sn, Al, Pt or Fe or metal compound such as chloride, nitrified product or oxide of the above-mentioned metal. Then distillation residue remaining without being distilled out is heated and burned using an electric oven, etc., preferably in an atmosphere containing no O2 at 800-2,500 deg.C to carbonize the residue.
