PURPOSE:To continuously and finely vary the pulse width of a current flowing to a flash lamp by relatively rotating both choke coils divided from the choke coil of a current waveform shaper. CONSTITUTION:A laser resonator is composed of two reflection mirrors 1, 2, a solid state laser medium 3 and a flash lamp 4 of an excitation light source. A current waveform shaper 5 is composed of capacitors 6a-6d and air core choke coils 7a-7d as four stages. A drive motor 9 is rotated at a predetermined rotating angle by a command from a pulse width controller 8, and stopped at its position. The rotary shaft 12 of the split rotary coils 11 of an air core choke coil is connected directly to the shaft of the motor 9, and coupled by a rotary transmission mechanism to obtain a predetermined inductance. The inductance of the choke coil L is continuously varied to continuously vary the pulse width of a discharge current to a flash lamp. |
