PURPOSE:To enhance resistance to oxidizability and resistance to peeling properties by integrally forming a layer of perovskite type oxide on the surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:Oxide or metallic salt of Cr and Fe, etc., is applied on the surface of a base material consisting of ferritic stainless steel contg. aluminum (Al), dried and heat-treated to form a layer of perovskite type oxide contg. 1-32pts.wt. Cr and Fe, etc., for 100pts.wt. base material and an activated alumina layer carried with catalytic metal such as platinum and rhodium thereon is formed. In order to make the surface stuck with the catalyst large, the base material is formed by alternately winding a corrugated plate and a flat plate and made to a cylindrical shape as a whole. Thereby transition of Al contained in the base material into alpha-alumina is inhibited and thermal deterioration of alumina can be inhibited and the catalytic performance can be stabilized. |
