PURPOSE:To realize a sector scanning type ultrasonic flaw detector which is excellent in the resolution, by using an array type vibrator in which vibrating elements for ultrasonic transmission/reception have been arranged in a circular arc shape, as a probe. CONSTITUTION:An array vibrator 2 consisting of many vibrating elements 21-2N is arranged in a circular arc shape, and transmits and receives a focusing ultrasonic beams 2a. A transmission scanning part 6 and a reception scanning part 7 execute a sector scan by switching successively transmitting/receiving operations of an operating element group of said vibrator array 2. The ultrasonic beam 2a which is transmitted or received is focused by a collimator lens 3 and converted to roughly parallel beams. According to such a constitution, even if a contact area of a body to be inspected 4 and a probe 1 is small, an ultrasonic wave can be transferred enough. Also, the ultrasonic beam penetrated into the body to be inspected 4 becomes a focused state, and also, parallel beams, therefore, a defined flaw detection image can be obtained. |
