PURPOSE:To achieve reduction of a printing impossible part to be generated at a lower part of printing paper such as a postcard or the like, by a method wherein an auxiliary paper feed means is arranged opposed to an adjacent part between a fixing platen of a paper guide and a printing head and besides, is equipped to a paper feed roller. CONSTITUTION:When printing is carried out, a printing head 3 is apart from a fixing platen 2-, interlocking rings 16, 16 are separated from a paper guide 10 by rotation of a roller holder 12. After printing paper 1 is located between the fixing platen 2 and the printing head 3 via between a paper feed roller 7 and a frisket roller 8 and between the interlocking rings 16, 16 and a platen most adjacent part 18 of the paper guide 10 the interlocking rings 16, 16 are pressured into contact with the platen most adjacent part 18 by rotation of the roller holder 12, and printing start operation is carried out. Then, paper feed in printing is performed with the paper feed roller 7, the frisket roller 8, and the interlocking rings 16, 16. After the end part of the printing paper 19 has passed between the paper feed roller 7 and the frisket roller 8, the paper is fed with the interlocking rings 16, 16 and the platen most adjacent part 18. Paper feed of the printing paper can be controlled to the end of the paper thereby and, for instance, a length of a printing impossible margin part to be generated at a lower part of the like of a postcard can be reduced to not more than 15mm.
