PURPOSE:To elevate an output, and to improve a frequency characteristic extending over a wide range by using a piezoelectric body, consisting of a thermotropic high molecular liquid crystal compound, as the piezoelectric body. CONSTITUTION:A microphone is constituted by sticking electrodes 2 on the both surfaces of the film of the sheet 10 of the piezoelectric body, consisting of the thermotropic high molecular liquid crystal compound. An optional diaphragm 9 can be attached to the optional external surface of the film or the sheet 10 of the piezoelectric body of the microphone. As for the thickness of the piezoelectric body film or sheet 10, it is recommendable to use the 5-100nm, preferably 10-30nm.
