PURPOSE:To make compact the device in a driving system by projecting a detecting plate when a flexural quantity of a torque transmitting spring, that is, a relative displacement quantity between first and second hubs is proportional to a transmitting torque, and the relative displacement quantity reaches a certain value. CONSTITUTION:A torque transmitting spring 51 is mounted on columnar projections 44 of opposed spring seats 41. The spring seats 41 are supported at their central portions to arcuate surfaces 16 of a first hub 11. When a transmitting torque becomes not less than a set value upon transmitting a torque, the torque transmitting spring 51 is compressed to largely displace the first and second hubs 11 and 21 in the circumferential direction. As a result, an operating pin 62 is urged rearward to urge a detecting plate 78 rearward and push a roller of a limit switch. Accordingly, a power circuit for a motor or the like is cut off by a signal from the limit switch, thereby cutting off the transmission of an excessive torque.
