PURPOSE:To simplify the sound recording operation of a program and to easily store an external memory by providing a means for storing the sound data of a desired program in the external memory such as a RAM card in a TV main body. CONSTITUTION:A sound recording mode is set by a sound recording and reproducing switching switch 6 disposed on the TV main body and a 'start', 'stop' switch 7 is depressed, and then, the sound recording is started, the sound of the desired program such as a weather forecast is recorded on a sound memory card 8, the 'stop' switch 7 is depressed, and then the sound recording is stopped. At the time of reproducing recorded contents, a reproducing mode is obtained by the sound recording and reproducing switching switch 6 and the 'start' switch 7 is depressed, the reproduction is started, the operation for the sound recording and the reproduction is simplified and the external memory is made compact and easily stored.
