<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a night soil wagon from foul odor by mounting a water- washing apparatus effective for removal of H2S and NH3 wherein water-soluble gas in the exhaust gas of a vacuum pump lubricated with water is absorbed by the lubricating water and the exhaust gas is then separated from water in a drain separator. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum pump 2 lubricated with water is used in place of a conventional oil-lubricating vacuum pump for extracting exhaust gas from a tank 1 of a night soil wagon. The lubricating water 3 fed from a lubricating water tank 4 is stirred vigorously together with the gas in the pump, and water- soluble NH3 and H2S in the exhaust gas are transferred to the lubricating water and removed. Aq. NaOH or other chemical liquid may be used for the lubricating water. The lubricating water used for the absorption of the exhaust gas is subjected to gas/liquid separation in a drain separator 5 provided to behind the pump 2. The gas exhausted from the vacuum pump 2 is ejected as bubbles into the liquid from a gas-dispersing nozzle 7 at the bottom of the main body 6 of the drain separator, and discharged from the separator out of an outlet nozzle 8 via an active carbon adsorption tower 15.</p> |
