PURPOSE:To obtain a phase shifter containing a capacity coupled wide band multiple tuning circuit in a simpler constitution, by connecting a variable capacity diode between the cathode and earth terminals of two variable capacity diodes. CONSTITUTION:The terminal set at one side of each of 1st and 2nd inductance elements L1 and L2 having intermediate taps is grounded and the anode terminals of 1st and 2nd variable capacity diodes D1 and D2 are connected to the terminals of the other sides of elements L1 and L2 respectively. Then the cathode terminal of a 3rd variable capacity diode D3 is connected to the cathode terminals of both diodes D1 and D2 with the anode terminal of the diode D3 grounded. The cathode terminals of these diodes D1-D3 are connected to a voltage control terminal 3. Furthermore the input and output terminals 1 and 2 are connected to the intermediate taps of both elements L1 and L2 via the coupled capacities. Thus it is possible to vary a phase over a wide range with a low loss and satisfactory linearity.
