PURPOSE:To prevent photosensitive, pressure-sensitive recording paper from coloring,staining, and damaging by arranging the reverse surface of a transmission member and the top surface of the photosensitive, pressure-sensitive recording paper in contact in a 2nd exposure unit in multicolor mode. CONSTITUTION:When the multicolor mode is selected with a mode selection switch, the stepping motor 28 of an exposure unit 2 rotates to arrange 2nd and 4th planar mirrors 16 and 18 to positions shown by alternate long and two short dashes lines, and reflected light from an original 12 is changed in optical path by planar mirrors 15-18 and 21 to form an inverted image of the original 12 on a photosensitive drum 29. The drum 29 rotates clockwise and while the transmission member 42 moves as shown by an arrow A, a light shielding visible image 35 is formed on the drum 29 by the exposure unit 2 and a developing device 33 and transferred onto the member 42 by a transfer device 43. Then the 2nd exposure unit 8 forms a latent image while the reverse surface of the member 42 and the top surface of the photosensitive, pressure- sensitive paper 48 are brought into contact. Latent images of other colors are formed similarly and transferred to visible color paper 52.
