PURPOSE:To measure the shape of the cornea and, for example, the axial length of an eye by one apparatus, by moving a part of an optical member in conjunction with an ultrasonic measuring probe. CONSTITUTION:LEDs 1a, 1b illuminate an eye E to be examined. A spring-up mirror 2 is provided in front of the eye E to be examined and a mirror 3 is arranged in the reflecting direction of said mirror 2 while an image forming lens 4, an iris 5 and an image pickup element 6 are successively arranged in the reflecting direction of the mirror 3. Further, an ultrasonic measuring probe 8 for measuring the axial length of the eye E to be examined supported by a probe holder 7 is arranged in front of the eye E to be examined behind the spring-up mirror 2 along a sliding guide member 9 so as to freely advance forwardly and backwardly. When the shape of the cornea is measured, the spring-up mirror 2 falls in a light path and, when the axial length of the eye to be examined is measured, the spring-up mirror 2 is sprung up and the ultrasonic measuring probe 8 slides to approach the eye E to be examined.
