PURPOSE:To boost voltage to required high potential and to achieve the miniaturization, wt. reduction and cost reduction of the title apparatus, by providing a piezoelectric boosting means for boosting the voltage applied to a piezoelectric element to high potential in a required boosting ratio. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric transformer as a piezoelectric boosting means for boosting the voltage applied to the piezoelectric member 17 of each printing unit 11 is mounted in a boosting unit 13. The piezoelectric member 17 extends in a direction A and allows a connection part 15d to shake in the clockwise direction around the first arm part 15e to oscillate a support arm 20 counterclockwise around one arm part 20a. A printing wire 18 is moved in the direction B shown by an arrow by the shaking of said support arm 20 to print printing data. As mentioned above, the drive voltage applied to the piezoelectric member 17 for subjecting the printing wire 18 to printing driving can be boosted to required high potential by the piezoelectric transformer of the boosting unit 13 mounted on a carriage 7 and a printing apparatus can be miniaturized and reduced in wt. and cost. |
