PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a fault such as thermal off-track by forming a ring spacer and a hub with a magnesium alloy which is the same type of material as that for a swing arm of a carriage of a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk medium 1 of a spindle mechanism of a magnetic disk device of the servo face servo system is subject to have prescribed interval between media by a ring spacer 2 and connected to a shaft 5 of a spindle motor via the hub 3 of the spindle motor while being supported freely turnably to the support mechanism 6 by a bearing 4. Then the ring spacer 2 and the hub 3 of the spindle motor are formed by using a magnesium alloy which is the same type of material as that for the swing arm of the carriage. Thus, a difference of thermal expansion between the ring spacer and the spindle motor hub and the swing arm is eliminated. Thus, any thermal off-track is prevented.
