A signalling device 3 for stopping a bus at a bus stop 1, which device is constituted by a stannate ion sign board 4, which can be fixed in stationary arrangement by a shaft 6 to the vertical pole 2 of the bus stop or to the wind shield of the bus stop and which can be swung out within sight of the driver of an approaching bus. The surface 7 of the board 4 is made to be light-reflective such that the sign can be observed even when it is dark.
