PURPOSE:To form a paint film reversibly changing in hue, by forming a top coat on a base coat to form a double-layer paint film and containing an org. photochromic compound in either one of both coats. CONSTITUTION:After a base coat is formed, a top coat is formed thereon to forma double-layer paint film and paint containing an org. photochromic compound is used in either one of the base coat and the top coat. Concretely, the paint containing the org. photochromic compound in an amount of 0.01-10% by wt. of a paint solid is applied to form the base coat and, thereafter the top coat is formed thereon. In a separate method, after the base coat is formed, the paint containing the org. photochromic compound in an amount of 0.01-10% by wt. of the paint solid is applied to form the top coat.
