PURPOSE:To obtain the title polyimide excellent in heat resistance, adhesiveness and processability, by reacting a diamine component comprising a specified aromatic diamine and a specified aliphatic diamine with an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. CONSTITUTION:A diamine component (A) is prepared by mixing an aromatic diamine (a) of formula I (wherein R is H, CH3 or C2H5) [e.g., 9,9-bis(4- aminophenyl)fluorene] with an aliphatic diamine (g) of formula II (wherein n=2-8), e.g., hexamethylenediamine, at a molar ratio of 9-1:1-9, preferably, 5-1:5-9. Component A is reacted with an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (B) (e.g., pyromellitic dianhydride) to obtain the title polyimide of an intrinsic viscosity (in a solution of 0.5g polymer in 100ml of dimethylacetamide at 30 deg.C) >=0.20dl/g, preferably, >=0.30dl/g.
