PURPOSE:To protect a positive temperature coefficient thermistor by using both ends of the series connector of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor, a normal short-circuit bimetal switch and a varistor as the input sides, employing both ends of the series connector of the bimetal switch and the varistor as the output sides and thermally bonding the positive temperature coefficient thermistor and a bimetal. CONSTITUTION:A positive temperature coefficient thermistor 3 and a bimetal switch 4 are coupled thermally. The positive temperature coefficient thermistor 3, the bimetal switch 4 and a varistor 5 are connected in series, and the both ends of the series connector are used as the input sides, and both ends of the series body of the bimetal switch 4 and the varistor 5 is employed as the output sides. Consequently, when circuit voltage abnormally rises, the heat generation of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor 3 is detected by the normal short-circuit bimetal switch 4, and a circuit is opened. Accordingly, the positive temperature coefficient thermistor can be protected.
