The field of the invention relates to a method for assembling the various components of an article of footwear by means of a system of seams. The object of the invention is to produce an inexpensive assembly method which is easy to perform, the result of which is aesthetically pleasing and which makes it possible to ensure perfect cohesion, particularly of the mounting (lasting) insole 3 and of the wall 2 of a shoe. This object is achieved by a method characterised in that, by means of a peripheral seam 11, the mounting (lasting) insole 3 is assembled with one of the lips 2', 2'' of a wall 2, formed from a French cording (binding) made from rigid and resistant material glued against the perimeter of the lower face 12 of the said mounting (lasting) insole 3. The invention applies preferably to articles of footwear including a support wall. <IMAGE>
