PURPOSE:To restrain the disturbance of flow at both ends of an impeller by forming a projection at the center of the inner surface of each end plate of a cross flow type impeller. CONSTITUTION:One end of an impeller 2 supported by a casing 1 is connected to a driving motor 7 via a coupling 6. A supporting shaft 4 is extended straight to the inside of the impeller 2 to form a projection 15. While eccentric votexes are generated by the rotation of the impeller 2, the votex flow impinges on the projection 15, and the projection 15 becomes a resistance to prevent the growth of the eccentric vortexes. Thus, a stable flow can be realized over the whole range in the direction of the turning shaft.
