The invention relates to a device for the automatic axial and radial adjustment of a turning tool (10) with regard to a part (19) to be turned in a lathe, comprising a spindle-operated slide (1), traversable in the axial direction of the part (19) to be turned, and a receptacle (4) mounted in the slide (1) and movable relative to the latter, the turning tool (10) being accommodated by a turning-tool holder (11) which is mounted in the receptacle (4) and is pivotable relative to the receptacle (4) by at least one power means (16). A device is proposed which is of especially simple construction and has a low overall height. It is characterised in that the receptacle (4) is pivotably mounted in the slide (1), with a pivoting point (3) of receptacle (4) and slide (1) arranged eccentrically to the pivoting point (12) of receptacle (4) and turning-tool holder (11), and at least one further power means (8) acting on the slide (1) and on the receptacle (4) for pivoting the latter. <IMAGE>
