<p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of rolling work by calculating required times that a tail end of preceding material and a top end of succeeding material travel from a detecting position to a rolling mill respectively, and base on its difference, by controlling the travel of succeeding material. CONSTITUTION:Speed detectors 18, 19 of the rolling mill 1 and table roller 13a are provided and connected to 1st and 2nd arithmetic units 18, 19. The arithmetic units 18, 19 estimate and calculate the required times TA, TB that the tail end 4B of the preceding material and the top end 5A of the succeeding material travel from the position of the position detector 7 to the rolling machine 1 respectively. Then, an inter-pitch control circuit 22 calculates the inter-pitch TB-TA and compares it with a set pitch TGAP to stop, pull back and feed again the succeeding material 5 to jogging transfer. In this way, because the waiting time in the jogging of the succeeding material is reduced, the efficiency of the rolling work is improved.</p> |
