PURPOSE:To ensure favorable spreading of the second color ink and enable high-quality color printing, by providing a colorcorrecting means for identifying whether the color of each piece of data in a printing data-holding means is the first color or the second color and for correcting heat according to the result of identification, and a printing head for generating heat according to an output from a printing head-driving means to melt an ink and transfer the molten ink to a paper. CONSTITUTION:Printing data supplied as an output from a printing data-holding means 1 drives heat generating elements corresponding thereto in a printing head 3, according to output signals from a printing head-driving means 2 and a color-correcting means 40. In the case of a color obtained by superimposition, for example, a green image is printed by printing a cyan image on a printed yellow image. In this case, if the same heat control is carried out for both yellow and cyan, a cyan ink used as the second color ink will not spread favorably. To avoid this problem, it is identified whether the color to be used now is the first color or the second color, and in the case of the second color, the quantity of energy applied is increased to ensure favorable spreading of the ink. |
