PURPOSE:To facilitate recognition of an originating subscriber and to economically introduce a system by preliminarily registering originating subscriber's numbers and ringing tone patterns in an exchange and calling a subscriber with registered patterns at the time of incoming. CONSTITUTION:A subscriber preliminarily registers originating subscriber's numbers and ringing tone patterns in an SPC exchange 11 correspondingly to each other. At the time of incoming to a telephone terminal 10, a central controller 106 accesses a storage device 107 and refers to a table 20 by the incoming subscriber's number and obtains a register table 21 corresponding to the terminal 10 in accordance with its address link information 201 and searches an originating subscriber's number (for example, A) obtained from the originating subscriber in the table to find contents coinciding with this originating subscriber's number. If they are found, a calling device 105 is instructed to transmit a ringing tone according with a ringing tone pattern (a) from a ringing tone pattern area 213, and this ringing tone is transmitted to the terminal 10 through a speech path device 102 and a subscriber's circuit 101. Thus, the originating subscriber is recognized on the side of the terminal 10. Since a special device is unnecessary for this method, it is economically introduced.
