PURPOSE:To simultaneously make not only black contamination but also oil contamination of an object visible, by providing an illuminating device which has enlarged a visible range by radiating simultaneously an ultraviolet light containing plenty of short wavelength together with a visible light. CONSTITUTION:From an ultraviolet fluorescent lamp 4, a visible light and an ultraviolet light containing plenty of short wavelength are radiated simultaneously to an object 5, by which as for the visibility characteristic to the wavelength, a visible range B of the ultraviolet light increases against a visible range A of the visible light. Accordingly, the visible range is enlarged to A+B, and at the time of an image processing, black contamination 6 and oil contamination 7 become visible simultaneously, and a visual observation inspection is simplified.
