PURPOSE:To accurately correct error by providing a bit inverting circuit which inverts a prescribed bit of read data and a discriminating circuit which decides the presence or the absence of error in read data where the prescribed bit is inverted. CONSTITUTION:Write data which code data is given is read out, and a prescribed bit of read data is inverted by a bit inverting circuit 13, and a deciding circuit 5 decides the presence or the absence of error in read data where the prescribed bit is inverted, and an error report signal generated based on this deciding result is outputted as the signal indicating normalcy of the detecting operation in an error detecting circuit 4. When the detecting operation of the error detecting circuit 4 is not checked, read data is not inverted and the deciding circuit 5 decides the presence or the absence of error, and the error report signal generated based on the decision result is outputted as the error report signal. Thus, the cause of error is located when error occurs in a memory circuit. |
