摘要 PURPOSE:To accurately and distinctly read a radiograph recorded in a phosphor layer by providing a hole which transmits an excitation light in a central part crossing with the route of the excitation light and also using a total reflection mirror installing a mirror surface for total reflection on the surface facing the phosphor layer as a light beam reflecting member. CONSTITUTION:The titled reader provides a radiograph recording member 1, a light source 3 and a light emission detecting device 6 which receives the light beam from the phosphor layer 10 in a position out of the route of the excitation light 2 by utilizing the light beam reflecting member 4 on the route of the light 2 and detects the emission of light on the phosphor layer 10. The phosphor layer 10 is scanned with the excitation light 2. By sequentially detecting the light emitting state on the respective points of a scanning path at the time of scanning in the light emission detecting device 6, the radiograph recorded in the radiograph recording member 1 is read. The hole 4a which transmits the excitation light 2 is provided in the central part crossing with the route of the excitation light 2 and the total reflection mirror 4 installing the mirror surface 4b for total reflection is used on the surface facing the phosphor layer 10. Thus, the emitted light beam can be surely detected even if the emission of light, itself, is faint and the radiograph recorded in the phosphor layer can be accurately and distinctly read.
