PURPOSE:To obtain a membrane to allow CO2 as well as O2 to selectively permeate therethrough, by employing a single polymer or copolymer of vinyl monomer represented by a specific general formula as constituting material. CONSTITUTION:A semipermeable membrane such as a flat membrane, cylindrical membrane, hollow yarn membrane etc. is formed by using, as constituting material, a single polymer of vinyl monomer represented by a general formula (1) (wherein: R<1> represents H, CH3; R<2> represents CH3, CH2CH3) or a copolymer containing, as a constitution unit, more than about 10wt.% of vinyl monomer as stated above. Semipermeable membranes thus obtained have a selective permeability not only for O2 but also for CO2.
