PURPOSE:To prevent the faulty operation generating at the time of interchanging an electroluminescent (EL) plate by providing a plate having less friction in the inside of a conductive rubber. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal display element 1 is connected to a printed circuit board 2 mounted with a circuit for driving said element 1 thereon, through the conductive rubber 3, and the EL plate 4 which is a light source, is interposed between the element 1 and the board 2 to form the title device. In said device, the EL guide plate 6 having the less friction is provided on the inside of the conductive rubber 3. Accordingly, the friction between the end face of the EL plate 4 and the conductive rubber 3 is lessened, thereby facilitating to pull out the EL plate 4 backwardly, or to insert a new EL plate 4 at the time of exchanging said EL plate 4. Thus, the faulty operation caused by slipping off the conductive rubber 3 at the time of exchanging the EL plate 4, is prevented.
