PURPOSE:To enable formation of an original plate and device body to a smaller size by engaging the original platen with the front face of the device body in the directions different when the device is used and when the device is not used. CONSTITUTION:The original platen 2 of a recorder of an original platen moving type is freely attachably and detachably constituted atop the device body 1. The sliding part 2b of the tray 2 is slidably engaged with and held on an original platen sliding and guiding rail 3 provided in the upper part of the body 1 and a rack 4 provided on the driving part 2c of the original platen is engaged with a pinion 5 provided on the body 1 so that the platen 2 is moved back and forth in the longitudinal direction of the tray 2 at the time of using the device. The platen 2 is turned 90 deg. within the plane and the edge 2d on the opposite side of an image adjusting part 2a is pinched into the rail 3 to engage and hold the platen 2 with and to the body 1 when the device is not used. The front face size of the body 1 can be thereby reduced as small as the max. original size. Since the platen 2 can be engaged and held with and to the device body without being projected from the device body while the device is not used, the portability and storage characteristic are improved.
