PURPOSE:To reduce the space to be occupied by an intermediate tray by providing a driving means for lowering a pull-in roller to a position where the pull-in roller contacts carrying paper in response to passage of the rear end of parer through a carrying roller. CONSTITUTION:A holding board 39 is rotated through a plunger 421 while resisting against a spring 41. Rotation of the holding board 39 is limited when an arm 57 is stopped at a plunger 422, and a pull-in roller 35 is lowered from a position L3 to a position L2 and stopped. When the pull-in roller 35 lowers to the position L2, a paper 25 to be carried out contacts the surface of the roller 35 and applies braking force, while simultaneously the paper 25 is pushed to the side of an intermediate tray 34 by means of the roller 35. Consequently, the paper 25 is stacked on the intermediate tray 34 with the rear end thereof being confined within the position of the pull-in roller 35. Since the pull-in roller 35 is rotating in reverse direction from the carrying direction of paper when the carrying roller 31 is rotating, braking force of the carrying paper is augmented.
