PURPOSE:To restore a picture display before erasing when a character pattern is erased from a picture by controlling a device so as to display key top information in the corresponding position of the picture at an input mode, and to display stored information at a display mode. CONSTITUTION:When the display mode is set, picture information, which protruded from the display picture when a picture is scrolled by the instruction of scroll keys 13-1, 13-2, is stored in an upper stack 5 or a lower stack 6, and is made possible to be redisplayed. Besides, when the input mode is set, the picture information, which is displayed before a key pattern for inputting is displayed, is stored temporarily in the upper stack 5 or the lower stack 6, and this stored picture information is redisplayed on a liquid crystal display unit 3, when it is turned to the display mode. In addition, at the time of restoring the former picture, the conversion of the picture information from code information into font information is not required, because the picture information is stored in the form of the font information, and a display speed comes fast.
